This is a blog containing my personal taste in music and art. That means you will see lots of Youtube videos with music I fancy, and also art videos and portraits from the Renaissance, Baroque and Rococo era.

Venus Blindfolding Cupid
Venus Blindfolding Cupid by Titian Vechellio c. 1560-65.
I would love to see this in person, Ninon. Do you know where it is? I would like to have a close look at how he painted the wings on Cupid's back. A new favorite! Catherine
Oh, it's a lovely painting! :) And the wings of Cupid are really interesting, I like that there's so much colour to them. In my copy of Ian G. Kennedy's Titian it says that the painting is located in Galleria Borghese in Rome. I hope that helps!
When in Rome, someday, I will surely visit the Galleria Borghese. Thanks, Ninon. I am doing a bit of work today, trying to relax, and I am going to play a couple of your selections to help me do so. Wishing you a happy weekend. They really come by quickly. Catherine

Thanks for your nice comments, Catherine! :)
ReplyDeleteI would also be delighted to see this painting "live" one day.
I'm glad you enjoyed my musical selections! :)
And I wish you a happy weekend too.
Best,
Ninon
